Chaminade University volleyball players
Emma Tecklenburg (Plano, Texas/Plano Senior) and
Rachel Reedy (Temple City, Calif./Arcadia) on Wednesday were named All-West Region by the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) and American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), respectively.
Â
Tecklenburg was named to the D2CCA Second Team while Reedy was one of 14 all-region honorees by the AVCA. Both earned All-Pacific West Conference First Team honors last week.
Â
It is the second consecutive year that Tecklenburg was recognized on the All-West Region Team by the D2CCA. She was also a second team honoree last season.
Â
In her final year as a Silversword, Tecklenburg finished fourth in PacWest in kills at 3.37 per set and has finished no lower than fourth in the conference in kills per set each year since 2017. She completed her standout career second in the school's all-time kills list with 1,292 and sixth in career service aces with 99.
Â
Meanwhile Reedy earns her first all-region award after being one of just three players in the Pacific West Conference to finish in the top-10 in both hitting percentage and kills per set. The junior right-side hitter was seventh in kills (2.96) and eighth in percentage (.328). She is just the third Silversword to earn all-region honors by the AVCA (Keani Passi, 2015; Danielle Robins, 1996, '97).
Â
The 'Swords finished 2019 with a 22-8 mark, one win shy of the school record set last year. Tecklenburg and the rest of her fellow senior class compiled a four-year record of 77-39 as the winningest senior class in program history. They also went 54-30 in PacWest matches during that stretch which is also the best four-year conference record in school history.
