HONOLULU – Chaminade University Athletics announced Monday that all home games for men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer and women's volleyball will be video streamed free for the spring of 2021.
Hawai'i Pacific Health will be the Broadcast Sponsor of the video stream – provided by online video partner Stretch Internet – during the duration of the spring semester.
The COVID-19 pandemic prompted the decision of no fans allowed to attend games at McCabe Gymnasium (basketball, volleyball) and Saint Louis Field (soccer). However, the free video service will allow fans to support their teams and student-athletes without incurring costs during these uncertain economic times.
The free service will be for home games only. Costs for road games are subject to that host school's video streaming rights.
Chaminade Athletics will have its first team sports in action this weekend when the men's and women's basketball teams host the University of Hawai'i Hilo. Tipoff times are set for 2 p.m. for the women and 5 p.m. for the men on Saturday while Sunday's contests are at noon and 3 p.m. The teams were to have faced Hawai'i Pacific University this past weekend before those games were postponed. Makeup dates for those contests are pending.
