Mariucci, Daugherty Earn HPH Honors

Chaminade University cross country runners Olivia Mariucci (Templeton, Calif./Templeton) and Owen Daugherty (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Male and Female Athletes of the Week for competition between Feb. 1 and 7.
 
Mariucci enjoyed an eighth-place finish in Saturday's women's 5-kilometer Hawai'i Pacific University Invitational at the challenging HPU-Hawai'i Loa campus. The senior logged a completion time of 24 minutes, 7.4 seconds. Times were significantly slower for all runners thanks to the hills that make up the former HPU Windward area.
 
Daugherty, a freshman, posted a crossing time of 19:23.9 to finish fifth overall in the men's race.
