TEMPE, Ariz. – All six active members of the Chaminade University women's tennis team were named on Tuesday as Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athletes while the Silverswords where recognized with the ITA All-Academic Team award.
Kayleen Lau (Wailuku, Maui, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Maui),
Catrina Liner (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis),
Skye Haraga (Kaneohe, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Punahou),
Marisa Luna (Kahului, Maui, Hawai'i/Maui),
Emily Ramirez Miranda (Honolulu/Kaiser) and
Salamasina Te`i (Hau'ula, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kahuku) were all named as ITA Scholar-Athletes.
Liner, a senior, completed her collegiate career as a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete while Lau and Te`i are two-time honorees. Ramirez Miranda made the list for the first time while as did first-year players Haraga and Luna.
The 'Swords were named to the All-Academic Team award for a fifth straight year, posting a 3.297 team GPA this past academic calendar.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, student-athletes must have a minimum 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.00 scale during the 2020-21 academic year and be listed on the institution's eligibility form.
To be an ITA All-Academic Team honoree, programs must have a team GPA of 3.2 or better with all student-athletes listed on the institution's eligibility form and all varsity letterwinners being factored into the cumulative GPA for the current academic year.
