The Chaminade University women's tennis team placed two members on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Selena Buttery (Brockway, Pa./Brockway) and
Isabella Minaudo (Honolulu/Hawai'i Technology Academy) were both recognized for academic excellence.
Buttery completed her final year of eligibility with her third College Sports Communicators honor with a perfect 4.00 grade-point average in Data Science. It is the dual-sport athlete's second award this season, having also been recognized on the CSC Academic All-District Team in women's basketball in March.
Buttery, who received her degree in Data Science last week, is also one of the most decorated academic student-athletes with a combined six Academic All-Pacific West Conference honors, three ITA Scholar-Athlete awards and two D2 Academic Achievement Awards. The total is likely to increase after the summer's academic awards are announced.
Minaudo earned the CSC Academic All-District Award for the first time, although she is no stranger to receive scholar-athlete recognition. The sophomore Business Administration major was an Academic All-PacWest and ITA Scholar-Athlete recipient last year.
To be recognized on the Academic All-District team, candidates must be a sophomore both academically and athletically, have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and must be in the lineup for 75 percent of the team's competitions.
