Chaminade University cross country runners
Elijah Bernardo-Flores (Waipahu, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) and
Anne Drelling (Orange County, Calif./Canyon) are the Hawai'i Pacific Health Silversword Male and Female Athletes of the Week for competition between Oct. 3 and 9.
In his final race on O'ahu, Bernardo-Flores posted an eighth-place overall finish in Saturday's Hawai'i Pacific University Sharks Invitational at the Kahuku Golf Course. The fifth-year senior recorded a time of 30:44.5 in the 8-kilometer event which was just seven seconds off his personal-best 8-k time at the course during last season's PacWest Championships.
Drelling enjoyed her first career first-place team finish at the HPU Sharks Invitational. The freshman completed the 5-k course in 23:05.0, finishing eighth overall in the event.
