WAIMEA, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's golf team wrapped up their fall non-championship season Saturday with a 15th-place overall finish at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate at the par-72, 6,875-yard Hapuna Golf Course on the Big Island.

The Silverswords finished with a plus-32 with an aggregate score of 607 after shooting a second and final round 301. They finished eight shots ahead of Northwest Nazarene in the 17-team field.

Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) was Chaminade's low scorer of the tournament, finishing tied for 20th overall at even-par 144 following a final round 3-over 75. The freshman, who played a bogey-free round on Friday, started his second day at the 16th and was cruising at 1-under through the Saturday's first 12 holes before running into trouble.

On the par-4 10th, he bogeyed his first hole of the tournament followed by another on 11 and a double-bogey on 12. However, Stopp righted the ship with pars on the final three holes.

After struggling with an 82 in the first round, fellow freshman Jack Yeager (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic) rebounded by firing a final round 1-under 71 to finish at 9-over 153.

Zachary DuBourdieu (Carlsbad, Calif./Sage Creek) and Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) both came in at 155 during the 36 holes. DuBourdieu shot a 77 in the final round while Alexander carded a 78.

Blake Buonopane (Rowley, Mass./St. John's Prep) shot a final round 79 to complete his tournament at 162.

The University of Texas Permian Basin won the team title with a 557, four shots better than Colorado Christian University.

UTPB's Sangha Park won medalist honors at 10-under 134, bettering teammate Thonsaeng Nunya by four shots.

The Silverswords will open their spring championship season on March 11 at the Tim Tierney Shootout in Alameda, California.
