Four from Men’s Soccer Named Academic All-Region

Four members of the Chaminade University men's soccer team have been named College Sports Communicators Academic All-District.
 
Criminology and Criminal Justice major Owen Caba (West Linn, Ore./West Linn) holds a cumulative 4.00 grade-point average in his three academic years as a Silversword. The senior midfielder completed his athletic eligibility tied for the career lead in points (25) and assists (9) and is tied for third in goals (8).
 
Kala'i Duncan (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Kamehameha-Kapalama) also carries a 4.00 GPA in Criminology and Criminal Justice. The junior midfielder, who will forgo his final year of athletic eligibility, started 37 of his 41 career matches including all 12 this past season.
 
Hunter Santoscoy (Florence, S.C./Union University/West Florence HS), a Communications major, has a 3.69 GPA while on the field, the senior defender started 26 of 27 games in his two seasons at Chaminade.
 
Goalkeeper Jonah Valmonte (Poolesville, Md./Robert Morris University/Poolesville HS) wrapped up his playing career with 140 saves, ranking third in program history. The Business major has a 4.00 GPA in his three years at Chaminade. He also got an assist – his only career point – in the Nov. 1 win at Jessup University.
 
Caba, Duncan and Valmonte all earned CSC Academic All-Region honors for the second straight year.
 
To be recognized on the Academic All-District team, candidates must be a sophomore both academically and athletically, have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and have played in either 90 percent or have started in 66 percent of their team's contests.
 
Institutions can nominate up to six candidates for Academic All-District honors.
 
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
