HONOLULU – Chaminade University men's soccer head coach
Joshua Woodard announced Friday the newcomers to the 2026 team.
Two of the newcomers were midseason additions who enrolled at Chaminade this past spring.
One of the midseason transfers is
Trent Liggett, who previously attended Huntington University in his native Indiana in 2024. He was considered one of the top 200 players in the nation as a junior in 2022.
The other is
Allen Velasquez who played last season at Central Connecticut State, seeing action in nine games, making three starts.
There are also 11 players who are new to Chaminade this fall.
Chase Bruckenhorst is a goalkeeper from Gelena High School in Reno, Nevada, earning all-region honorable mention honors and helped the Grizzlies to the state 3A title.
Joshua Cox is a transfer forward from Iona University in New York. The San Diego, California native did not play for the Gaels last season but played a year at Illinois Wesleyan in 2022 where he played 11 games. Cox has international experience, spending two years in between Illinois Wesleyan and Iona in Spain.
Santiago Fernandez is a transfer from Westminster College in Pennsylvania. The forward from Orlando, Florida played two seasons there, starting 13 games in 2025 and logged 1,116 minutes of field time.
Anahola, Kaua'i native
Kamalei Gonsalves was a two-sports standout at Kapa'a High School in both soccer and football. On the pitch, he was a three-time All-Kaua'i Interscholastic Federation (KIF) selection while earning all-state honors. He also helped the Warriors' football team win two Hawai'i High School Athletic Association championships. He is the brother for former Silverswords' forward and current women's soccer assistant coach La'akea Gonsalves.
Mykah Harris is a transfer from Utah Valley University where he attended the spring 2026 semester. Before that, the Fife, Washington native went to Highline College for two years, earning all-NWAC honors twice.
Chara Iniestra is a transfer from MiraCosta College in California. As a sophomore last year, he had five goals and two assists in helping the Spartans reach the 3C2A state playoffs.
Cyrus Khosravi comes to Chaminade from Western Illinois University. The Iowa native earned first team all-state honors at Dallas Center Grimes High School and helped the Mustangs win the state title in 2024.
Gideon McDonald is a freshman from Grant High School in Portland, Oregon, where he helped the Generals qualify for the state tournament, where he recorded a goal and assist.
Nisho Simon is a 2024 graduate of Mililani High School and spent the past two seasons at Westminster College in Pennsylvania before returning home. The Kapolei native played 33 games during his two seasons there, logging over 3,000 career minutes.
Kolby Okutsu is a freshman from Waiakea High School in Hilo where he earned all-Big Island Interscholastic Federation (BIIF) honors and second-team all-state kudos. Okutsu helped the Warriors capture the BIIF title in 2024.
Chance Therrien is a transfer from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota, playing in 26 career matches in his two seasons there, logging over 1,000 career minutes.
The Silverswords open the season on Saturday, Aug. 29 in a non-conference tilt against the University of Hawai'i Hilo at Saint Louis Field.
