NORTH LAS VEGAS – The Chaminade University men's golf team remains ninth after the second round of the Pacific West Conference Championships at the par-72 Aliante Golf Course.
The Silverswords shot a 319 on the second day for a two-round total of 626, 11 shots behind eighth-place Dominican University of California.
Ky Stopp (Long Beach, Calif./Woodrow Wilson) remains Chaminade's low scorer for the tournament at 5-over-par 145 after shooting a second round 3-over 75, putting in 22nd overall. The sophomore recorded four birdies on the back nine including three straight on holes 15, 16 and 17.
Ethan Alexander (New Rochelle, N.Y./Fordham Prep) is at 12-over 156 after carding a second round 8-over.
Blake Buonopane (Rowley, Mass./St. John's Prep) shot 10-over on Tuesday, putting his two-day total at 19-over while
A.J. Dahlk (Centerport, N.Y./Harborfields) shot 82 in the second round, an eight-shot improvement from the previous day and sits at plus-18.
Jack Yeager (San Clemente, Calif./JSerra Catholic) withdrew from the field, leaving the Silverswords with the minimum four golfers to qualify for a team score.
Hawai'i Pacific University remains atop the team standings at 568, just two shots ahead of defending PacWest champion University of Hawai'i Hilo.
UH Hilo's Dylan Bercan is the second round leader at 8-under 136, holding a one-shot lead over HPU's Fisher Ransom.
The final round of the PacWest Championship is Tuesday with the first tee times at 4 a.m. Hawai'i time.
