HONOLULU – The 2025 Chaminade University beach volleyball team's season could be deemed as successful.
A 5-7 record in just the program's second year of existence was just another step as the Silverswords look to put together more successful campaigns as the program grows. All seven of their defeats came to more established Division I programs, although most of the individual dual matches were extremely competitive.
The 'Swords' most successful team was the Italian duo of
Letizia Cammillucci (Padova, Italy/San Jose State/Liceo Amedeo di Savoia Duca D'asosta HS) and
Anna Stucchi (Roncello, Italy/Santa Clara University/I.I.S. Ezio Vanoni HS) who went 6-6 during the year, leading the team in wins.
Right behind them was
Leilani Ama (Spokane, Wash./Mt. Spokane) and
Grace Talpash (Temecula, Calif./University of Oklahoma/Great Oak HS) who went 5-7 as playing partners. Ama and Talpash saw their most successful pairing at the No. 2 flight, recording a 3-2 mark there. Cammillucci and Stucchi, meanwhile, went 3-3 in Flight 3.
Sisters
Brooklyn Poling (Gilbert, Ariz./Western Carolina Univ./Perry HS) and
DeLaney Poling (Gilbert, Ariz./Park Univ./Perry HS) teamed up six times during the year.
Nanna Inoue (Kula, Maui, Hawai'i/Tyler JC/King Kekaulike HS) and
Mahala Ka'apuni (Hilo, Hawai'i/Alaska Anchorage/Hilo HS), like Cammillucci and Stucchi, were 3-3 in Flight 3 with four victories in all as a team.
Kanoelehua Misipeka (Pago Pago, American Samoa/Liberty North, Mo.) and
Kendall Rios (Tustin, Calif./Foothill) pieced together two wins as a team, Chaminade's fourth duo to log multiple wins during the season.
