HONOLULU – The Chaminade University beach volleyball team had another year of growth in for their fledgling program.
In their third year, the Silverswords had new experiences including their first-ever mainland road trip and more competition against non-Division I-funded programs.
The 'Swords bid aloha to seniors
Kanoelehua Misipeka (Pago Pago, American Samoa/Liberty North, Mo.),
DeLaney Poling (Gilbert, Ariz./Park University/Perry HS) and
Alizaysha Sopi (Waianae, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Tennessee State University/Kapolei HS), along with
Audrah Johnson (Nampa, Idaho/Utah State University/Nampa HS), who departed the program at year's end.
Misipeka was CUH's wins leader of the season with six, which helped wrapped her career with a program-record 16 victories.
Poling was one of five players with four wins and concluded her career with 10, which is fourth all-time.
Along with Poling, Johnson,
Leilani Ama (Spokane, Wash./Mt. Spokane),
Sina Bauer (Bamberg, Bavaria, Germany/Maximillian-von-Montgelas Gymnasium Vilsbiburg) and
Aliya Hofherr-Sanders (Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Hanalani) also had four wins on the season.
As part of the experience of a program that isn't split into their traditional divisions like in other NCAA sports, the Silverswords got to travel outside the state for the first time, heading to Oregon in February in the Corban Invitational. The 'Swords faced host Corban and Southern Oregon, both NAIA powers.
Chaminade also faced Division II institutions Concordia University Irvine – a fellow Pacific West Conference member – and McKendree University from Illinois.
The 'Swords also had their traditional series against Hawai'i Pacific University, winning all five meetings in 2026, improving them to 17-0 all-time against the Sharks.
