Hilo, HI- Facing the regionally ranked Vulcans, the Swords battled, but fell short by a score of 3-0.
Kris Lounsbury kept the Swords close, saving 8 shots on the night. Ehren Ching led the offense with 2 shots on goal. Chaminade was down 2-0 at the break as Dustin Daley and Gene Okamura both scored for UHH in the opening 45 minutes. Daley added his second goal in the 68th minute to make it 3-0 for Hilo.
Ivan Mercado made 4 saves for the Vulcans. Chaminade was out-shot 18-8.
With the loss, Chaminade falls to 1-11-1. UH-Hilo moves to 6-2 with the win.
The Swords are back in action vs. Hawaii Pacific on Oct. 12th. The match will start at 1:30 PM HT at Atherton Field in Kaneohe, HI.
