Phoenix, AZ- The Swords Men's Soccer team fell this evening to the 'Lopes of Grand Canyon University 8-1. GCU got up early on, putting five goals on the board in the first twenty-two minutes. Andrew Bailey led GCU with 3 goals and 2 assists. Kris Lounsbury made 5 saves for Chaminade, Matt Muntz added 3 saves in the second half.
Nick Smith scored the lone goal off a Jensen Takiguchi assist in the 65th minute for the Swords.
CUH was out-shot 22-10 in defeat.
With the loss, Chaminade falls to 1-7-1. Grand Canyon moves to 2-3-2 overall. The Swords are back in action in St. George, UT against Dixie State on September 27th. Game time is set for 1:30 PM MT.
