CUH WVB: Chaminade Falls on the Road at Dixie State in Four Sets

Board has 13 kills to lead Chaminade

ST. GEORGE, UT- The Swords Volleyball team finished playing four matches in five days tonight with the second match in as many days with Dixie State. CUH came out ready to go, taking the first set from the Red Storm by a score of 25-22. Dixie State responded as the match continued, taking the next three sets in succession: 10-25, 13-25 and 20-25. 
                                                                                                     
Junior Allie Board (Redwood City, CA/Notre Dame) continues to be a bright spot on the Sword attack, contributing 13 kills and hitting .194 on the match. Sophomore Kylee Pedro (Kailua, HI/Mid-Pacific) finished with 9 kills on the evening while Sword junior Poerava Gantt (Kapaa, HI/Kapaa) had 8 kills and 13 digs in defeat.  
 
Senior setter Tanya Alvino (Brentwood, CA/Liberty) had 32 assists and 10 digs for the Swords. 
 
Junior Kristy Inamasu (Kahului, HI/Maui) led Chaminade in digs with 33. Sophomore Kylee Pedro (Kailua, HI/Mid-Pacific) finished with 9 kills on the evening.       
 
CUH lost the dig battle 86-91. The Red Storm outhit the Swords .205 to .034. Team blocks went to Dixie as well, 16 to 5.5. Sophomore Kylee Pedro (Kailua, HI/Mid-Pacific) finished with 9 kills on the evening.       
 
Dixie State was led by Brita Noble with 16 kills.  
 
With the loss, Chaminade moves to 4-10, 1-6 in the PWC. Dixie State moves to 10-6, 5-3 in the PWC. The Swords look to rebound in San Francisco, CA on Thursday, October 14th at 7:00 PM PT as the take on the Urban Knights of Academy of Art.
