HONOLULU, HI- The Swords took on the Vuclans of UH – Hilo tonight and fell by a score of 3 to 0.
UHH continues their domination of the Pacwest, beating the Silverswords, 25-16, 25-18 and 26-24.
The third and final set went down to the wire, despite a hard fought battle CUH came up short, losing 26-24. CUH was led by junior
Poerava Gantt (Kapaa, HI/Kapaa), who added 11 kills and 11 digs. Freshman
Crystal Powell (Honolulu, HI/ Word of Life) had 8 kills and 13 digs on the night.
Tanya Alvino contributed with 35 assists and 10 digs in tonight's loss.
Junior
Kristy Inamasu (Kahului, HI/Maui) added 11 digs for the Swords.
The Swords were out-hit by the Vuclans 283 to 156. Chaminade however, did out hit the Vuclans at the net totaling 10 blocks to UHH 8. The dig battle was tied at 56 apiece.
UHH was led by Hilary Hurley who finished up the night with 18 kills and 10 digs.
With the loss, Chaminade falls to 7-15, 4-11 in the PWC. AAU moves to an impressive 17-3, 13-1 in the PWC. The Swords next match is this Saturday, November 12 @ McCabe Gym. CUH will bid Aloha to Seniors
