CUH W. Tennis: Swords Earn Spilt to Open Season

Chaminade defeats W. New Mexico, falls to Grand Canyon

Glendale, AZ- Chaminade's Women's Tennis Team opened the season with a 5-4 win over Western New Mexico February 11^th at the Paseo Racquet Club. Yuka Kondo, Tiffany DeVincent and Silkie Kawahakui earned singles victories for the Swords. Chaminade took two of three doubles matches to earn the 5-4 victory.

In their second match of the day, Chaminade fell to Grand Canyon 5-4, to even the Swords record at 1-1. Tiffany DeVincent won her second singles match of the day and the Swords again took two of three doubles matches, but it wasn't enough, as the 'Lopes squeaked out a 5-4 victory. Chaminade's #2 doubles combination of Natalie Phanphengdy and Silkie Kawahukui won again, finishing 2-0 for the day.

CUH is back in action on 2/12, 2/13 and 2/14. The Swords will take on Montana State Billings, Dixie State and Midwestern State on three consecutive days.

The Swords will be back on the island of Oahu for a match with Hawaii Pacific on February 20^th. Match time is set for 9 AM HT at Central Oahu Regional Park in Waipahu.
