CUH W. Tennis: Swords Fall to BYU-Hawaii 5-0 in Pac West Semis

Chaminade awaits tomorrow's consolation foe

LAIE, HI – Top-seed BYU-Hawaii grabbed all three doubles matches and a pair of singles contests to defeat #5 Chaminade 5-0 in the semifinals of the 2011 Hawaiian Airlines Pacific West Conference Women's Tennis Championship on Friday, April 15, in Laie, HI.
 
The Seasiders will face the winner of #3 Grand Canyon and #2 Hawai'i Pacific at 9 a.m. HT on Saturday, April 16, in Laie, HI, in the PacWest title match. The loser of that match will battle Chaminade for third place on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. HT. Times of the matches are subject to change.
 
Yuan Jia and Elwen Li Boud defeated Yanita Arnaudova and Yuka Kondo 8-1 and first doubles, while I-Hsuan Annie Hwang and Shawni Porter cruised by Jan Matsumoto and Natalie Phanphengdy 8-0 at second doubles.
 
Sasha Ulbrichtova and Salina Aranda collected an 8-1 victory at third doubles vs. Karen Chaussoy and Stacey Chaussoy.
 
Li Boud earned a third singles win by beating Yuka Kondo 6-0, 6-1, while Aranda defeated Natalie Phanphengdy 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles to clinch the shutout victory for the Seasiders.

Chaminade is currently 7-9 on the year.
