KAHUKU, HI- Chaminade Cross Country concluded a breakout year at the NCAA Division II Regionals at the Kahuku Golf Course hosted by Hawaii Pacific.
Chaminade sophomore Jorge Cisneros (Lake Elsinore, CA/Lakeside) was CUH's top finisher in the men's race, leading CUH on the men's side with a time of 34:05 and earning a 42nd place finish in the event. Micah Chemilo of Alaska-Anchorage was the individual winner with a time of 31:57. Chico State won the team title.
On the women's side, CUH junior Emily Ocshner (Ventura, CA/Camarillo) concluded her stellar year with a thirty-fifth place finish in the regional with a time of 22:56. Chaminade finished twenty-fourth overall on the women's side. Chico State won the women's team title. Susan Tanui of Alaska-Anchorage was the individual race winner. Freshman Laura Spiegel (San Lorenzo, CA/Arroyo) finished 155
th with a time of 27:19 and was the second best Chaminade finisher.
Coach Picl commented on the meet: “I'm really proud of the team. It's great to take two full teams to regionals. Both teams set a new bar for Chaminade Cross-Country for future runners to meet.”
The NCAA Regionals conclude the season for both the Chaminade men and women.
