HONOLULU – At halftime of a recent Chaminade University men's basketball game, seniors
Jorge Cisneros and
Aris Springs were honored for their contributions to the men's cross country team.
Cisneros ended his career as one of the top runners in program history. A two-time all-Pacific West Conference selection, the Lake Elsinore, Calif. native had 20 career races in which he was the first Silversword to cross the finish line, including 18 straight dating back to the beginning of his sophomore year. One of those runner-up finishes came in this season's Chaminade Invitational on Oct. 11, finishing with a career-best time of 26:03 in 8-k races. He also participated in four NCAA West Regionals, although an injury early in the race forced him to withdraw from the final race of his career. Cisneros was also honored as the school's Male Student-Athlete of the Year during the 2013-14 academic term.
Springs concluded his three-year cross country career in last month's 8-k PacWest Championships, clocking in at 32:59, good for 70
