CUH MSOC: Swords Downed by MSU-Billings 2-1 in Season Opener

Box Score HONOLULU, HI- In the first contest of the 2012 season, Chaminade fell to the Yellowjackets of Montana State Billings by a score of 2-1.
 
The Yellowjackets controlled the first half outshooting CUH 15-3, but the Swords defense held stout to go into the half trailing 1-0.
 
MSU-Billings Legofi Crawford scored the goal in the 44th minute to earn the 1-0 Yellowjacket halftime lead.
 
The Swords rallied back in the second half, as a strong attack by the Swords led to a penalty kick goal by Sam Galloway (Akron, OH/Copley) in the 77th minute.  The Yellowjackets responded within a minute with a goal by Thomas Sheets to make the score 2-1. 
 
Chaminade continued to push, but could not find the equalizer in the closing minutes.   
 
Mathias Berbel (Simi Valley, CA/Royal) made 10 saves in for CUH.  Chaminade lost the shot total 23-11.
 
With the defeat, Chaminade moves to (0-1, 0-0). MSU Billings moves to 1-0.  Chaminade is set to take on BYU-Hawaii on September 8th at St. Louis Field.  Kickoff is set for 1:00 PM HT.
