W. Tennis: Swords Fall to Sonoma State 8-1

Takara and Matsumoto earn doubles win

GLENDALE, AZ – The Swords dropped a non-conference match to Sonoma State 8-1yesterday evening in the 2013 GCU Tennis Tournament.  Chaminade junior Jan Matsumoto (Honolulu, HI /Maryknoll) and freshman Kim Takara (Mililani, HI/Mililani) earned a hard fought win at #2 doubles, defeating the Seawolves Lauren Ha and Sheena Johnson 9-8 (7-4).

Coach Rothhammer added: “It was nice to see Jan and Kim pick up their first doubles win together.”
 
Chaminade is back in action on Sunday against Metro State at 8 AM MT at the Arrowhead Country Club in Glendale, AZ.
 
With today's loss, Chaminade moves to 0-6 on the year.  Sonoma State moves to 3-2 on the year with the win.
