W. Tennis: Swords Fall to HPU 8-0

HONOLULU, HI – The Swords dropped a non-conference match to Hawaii Pacific 8-0 today at the Hale Koa Tennis Courts.  Chaminade junior Jan Matsumoto (Honolulu, HI /Maryknoll) and sophomore Roni Hewett (Julietta, ID / Clarkston) battled at #2 doubles, falling 8-2.  The Sea Warriors swept the remaining matches for the 8-0 win.

Coach Rothhammer commented on the match: "The Swords showed resilience against HPU and the rainy conditions. Melanie Schumilas debuted at #1 singles today in her first match as a Sword."

Chaminade is back in action at home on March 13th against BYU-Hawaii at 10 AM HT at the Central Oahu Regional Park in Waipio, HI. 
 
With today's loss, Chaminade moves to 0-8 on the year.  Hawaii Pacific moves to 3-0 on the year with the win.
