W. Tennis: Swords Drop Match to the Sunbirds of Fresno Pacific 9-0

GLENDALE, AZ – The Swords dropped a non-conference match to fellow PacWest Conference member Fresno Pacific 9-0 today in the 2013 GCU Tennis Tournament.  Chaminade junior Shayla Hosaka (Kailua, HI /Castle) battled at #5 singles, nearly earning the Swords a win, falling 6-4, 6-3.

Coach Rothhammer discussed the match: “The Silverswords fought hard, but Fresno was too strong.  Shayla Hosaka worked hard and had a tough two set loss.”
 
Chaminade is back in action on Saturday against Sonoma State at 6 PM MT at the Paseo Racquet Club in Phoenix, AZ.
 
With today's loss, Chaminade moves to 0-5 on the year.  Fresno Pacific moves to 4-1 on the year with the win.
