Course conditions at the Waikaloa Kings' Course were significantly tougher over the weekend. Last year, the Vulcans won the tournament with an 860, one of four teams which shot sub-900 through the 54-hole event. Six teams last year had better scores than the Hilo's winning score this year.
"The team has really improved in tournament play," Silverswords head coach
Renee Yuen said. "(Friday's) second round score was one of the lowest for all days so we can definitely be competitive. I feel as a team, we have come a long way and everyone gave their best effort. You can't expect more as a coach. I know we will continue to improve and move up the leaderboard."
The 'Swords, who had a productive fall season, will now prepare for the spring when their championship season begins.
