Round 2 Team ScoresRound 2 Standings and Top 20 IndividualsSAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – Playing in its first-ever Mainland regular season tournament, the Chaminade University men's golf team shot a 76-over-par 636 in the first day of the Coyote Classic Monday at the par-70, 6,528-yard Arrowhead Country Club.
The Silverswords are in 15
th place, 11 shots behind 14
th-place Notre Dame de Namur after the first 36 holes. The entire day was played in rainy conditions with the temperature in the mid-50s while a winter storm warning was in effect for the area during the afternoon's second round.
Chico State, the No. 3-ranked squad in the Golfstat Division II top-25 rankings, leads the event at 13-over. Kavan Eubank of California Baptist is the second-round leader at 2-under 138.
'Swords freshman
R.J. Garczynski is at 15-over-par 155 to lead the Chaminade contingent and is tied for 57
th. Garczynski fired a 4-over-par 74 in Round 1 and was tied for 34
th place before falling back with a second-round 81.
Senior
Jarin Harada rebounded from a 13-over-par morning round to post a 77 during the second 18 holes to come in at 20-over-par 160.
Lucas Park is plus-21 after posting an 81-80, followed by
Justin Taparra at 23-over-par (78-85) and
Ryan Look at 36-over (80-96).
The 'Swords opened the day with a 33-over 313 in the first round with Garczynski just 10 shots behind Round 1 leader John McCord of the University of Redlands.
The tournament concludes in the 18-hole finale on Tuesday.
