th-place finish at the Coyote Classic Tuesday at the par-70, 6,540-yard Arrowhead Country Club.
The Silverswords shot a final-round 317 to finish the 54-hole tournament at 113-over-par 953, eight shots behind 14
th-place finisher Notre Dame de Namur in sunny, 60 degree weather. Monday's rounds were mired with rain and temperatures in the mid-50s.
Freshman
R.J. Garczynski led Chaminade with a 23-over-par 233 after a final round 8-over 78 to finish in a tie for 56
th. Junior
Jarin Harada posted his best score of the tournament with a final round 5-over 75 to finish in a tie for 62
nd with a 25-over 235.
Sophomore
Justin Taparra shot a 10-over 80 in his final round to come in with a 243 while freshman
Lucas Park had a 14-over 84 to post a total of 245. Junior
Ryan Look rounded out the 'Swords group with 16-over 86 for a three-round finish of 262.
The experience proved valuable for the 'Swords, who got to tee off against six teams who are ranked in the top 50 of the latest Golfstat national rankings.
Chico State, ranked No. 3 in the Division II rankings, took the team crown at 24-over 864. The University of Redlands, ranked eighth in the Division III rankings, came in five shots behind.
Kavan Eubank of California Baptist won medalist honors with a 2-under-par 208, finishing three shots ahead of runners-up A.J. Hebert of Cal State East Bay and Kenny You of Dixie State.
