LAIE, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's golf team opened the 2015 championship season Wednesday with an opening round 29-over 317 in the BYU-Hawai'i Tri-Match at the Turtle Bay Fazio Course.
The Silverswords are in second place, 15 shots behind first round leader, BYUH. Hawai'i Pacific had a team total of 323 to round out the tri-match.
Junior
Jarin Harada sits atop the first round leaderboard after firing a 2-over 74, one shot ahead of Seasider teammates Federico Clausen and Inoka Kahawaii.
Freshman
R.J. Garczynski shot a 4-over 76, putting him in a three-way tie for fourth. Sophomore
Justin Taparra shot a 9-over 81 while freshman
Lucas Park rounded out the Chaminade group of countable scores with a 14-over 86. Freshman
Dylan Takabayashi, playing in his first match as a Silversword, shot a 17-over 89.
The Silverswords wrap up their season opener on Thursday as the tri-match moves to the Turtle Bay Palmer Course for the 18-hole finale.
