KAHUKU, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University men's golf team wrapped up their first tournament of the spring championship season, finishing second at the BYU-Hawai'i Tri-Match at the Turtle Bay Palmer Course on Thursday.
Despite shooting a total of 330 in the final round, the Silverswords' two-day total of 647 was good enough to finish ahead of Hawai'i Pacific's 651. Host BYUH won the tri-match with a 612.
Chaminade's
Jarin Harada shot a final round 4-over 76 to post a two-day total of 6-over 144, putting him in third place individually. Seasider teammates Federico Clausen and Inoka Kahawaii were co-medalists with 5-over 149s.
R.J. Garczynski carded a second-round 6-over 78 to give him a total of 154, putting him in a tie for fifth-place individually.
Lucas Park ended the tri-match with a total of 171, followed by
Justin Taparra (179) and
Dylan Takabayashi (180).
