KAILUA-KONA, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team fell to No. 22 Sonoma State in the second day of the Holua Tennis Invitational at the Holua Tennis & Pickleball Center.
In the doubles session, the Silverswords' No. 1 team of
Kauanoe Beamer and
Elyssa Shirai battled the Seawolves' duo of Karlee Budge and Mariann Bukich but dropped an 8-3 decision. In No. 3 singles,
Emma Haurillon and
Kim Spring managed to take a game against Jenna DeTurk and Jennifer Kingsley in falling 8-1.
Then in the singles portion,
Tomomi Kohno got a game off Bukich, losing 6-0, 6-1 while Haurillon fell to Julie Rea, 6-0, 6-2.
The 'Swords fell to 0-3 while Sonoma State improved to 3-3.
Chaminade concludes its Big Island trip Sunday against Hawai'i Hilo.
