HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to Hawai'i Hilo at the Ala Moana Beach Park Tennis Courts on Saturday.
The Silverswords' No. 2 doubles team of
Cai Yan Fang and
Tomomi Kohno managed to play their most competitive match of the season, battling the Vulcans' Kinsey Volkart and Cheyenne Schula before falling, 8-4.
Fang also made her debut at No. 1 singles while
Emma Haurillon faced off against Anne Carsey in her familiar No. 4 spot before falling 6-1, 6-2. Meanwhile,
Hannah Parker captured her first career game in No. 5 singles as she faced Schula.
Chaminade fell to 0-8 on the year while UH Hilo improved to 3-6.
The Silverswords, whose match at BYU-Hawai'i on Friday was postponed due to rain, will face Holy Names on Sunday at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park at 3 p.m.
