WAIPAHU, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team opened the spring break week by dropping a 9-0 decision Monday to The College of Idaho at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.
 
In what was the Silverswords' most competitive match this season, multiple players won games against the Yotes (2-5).
 
In doubles action, the 'Swords' No. 1 team of 
Elyssa Shirai and 
Emma Haurillon dropped an 8-3 decision to COI's Hailey Boyd and Erin Huffman while their other two doubles squads, 
Cai Yan Fang with 
Tomomi Kohno and 
Kim Spring with 
Hannah Parker fell in identical 8-2 scores.
 
In the singles matches that followed, Fang at the No. 1 spot pushed Megan Huffman before falling 6-3, 6-4. Shirai also had a very competitive match in No. 2 singles, dropping a 6-3, 6-3 decision to Alex Sorte. Haurillon also battled Erin Huffman in a 6-1, 6-3 loss in the No. 4 position.
 
The Silverswords (0-12) face Mill College Tuesday at 10 a.m. at CORP Tennis Courts then faces COI in a rematch on Wednesday.
