WAIPAHU, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team played at home for the first time this season, dropping a 9-0 decision Monday to No. 4 Hawai'i Pacific at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.
The Silverswords (0-4) No. 1 doubles team of
Catrina Liner (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis) and
Salamasina Te`i (Hau'ula, Hawai'i/Kahuku) managed to take two sets from the Sharks' (5-0) squad of Lena Lutzeier and Oceane Adam.
In singles action, Liner took two games from Lutzier, the ninth-ranked singles player nationally in a 6-1, 6-1 loss.
Emma Haurillon (Yigo, Guam/St. Thomas Aquinas) also took a game in her match at No. 3 while
Hannah Parker (Kihei, Hawai'i/St. Anthony) went 6-1, 6-1 against her opponent in No. 6 singles.
The 'Swords return to action on Saturday, March 10 against Division I UC Irvine at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Tennis Complex.
