HONOLULU – The Chaminade University women's tennis team faced the first of their three Division I opponents, dropping a 9-0 count to UC Irvine Saturday at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa Tennis Complex.
Catrina Liner (Corvallis, Ore./Corvallis) managed to take two games off Vivien Dvali in No. 1 singles before falling 6-2, 6-0.
The Silverswords fell to 0-5 on the season while the Anteaters, who played a Big West Conference match against Hawai'i earlier in the morning, improved to 7-7.
The 'Swords return to action against another D-I foe, Valparaiso, on Monday at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park at 10 a.m.
