IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University right-side hitter
Rachel Reedy has been named the Pacific West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week for Sept. 9 through 13.
The junior from Temple City, Calif. and Arcadia High School totaled 33 kills (4.71 per set) with a .355 attack percentage to help the Silverswords win both matches last week to run their school-record winning streak to 10.
Reedy put down 19 kills with a .378 percentage along with her first service ace of the year in Wednesday's win over Biola. She followed with a 14-kill, five-dig performance Sunday against Concordia while hitting .320 in the match.
Reedy ranks fifth in the PacWest in both kills (3.09 kps) and hitting percentage (.356) for Chaminade which is 15-2 overall and sitting in first place in the conference at 9-0, two matches ahead of second-place Azusa Pacific (13-2, 7-0 PacWest).
This is her second weekly conference honor this year. Ashley Pawlak of Academy of Art was the PacWest Defender of the Week while Biola's Abigail Copeland was the Freshman of the Week.
The 'Swords host three matches at McCabe Gymnasium this week. They face Fresno Pacific on Thursday, Dominican on Friday and Notre Dame de Namur on Sunday.
