IRVINE, Calif. – The Chaminade University men's soccer team is picked to finish eighth in the Preseason Pacific West Conference Poll as selected by the conference coaches.
The Silverswords received 52 points, 11 ahead of No. 9 Dominican. Azusa Pacific is the PacWest's preseason No. 1 followed by Fresno Pacific and Point Loma. Concordia Irvine and Notre Dame de Namur round out the top five.
The 'Swords are coming off their first-ever winning season and returns 19 letterwinners. Eight starters are also back including all four of their All-PacWest selections in defenders
Curtis Coburn (Huntington Beach, Calif./Huntington Beach) and
Tasman Turner (Kailua, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Iolani), goalkeeper
Michael Stafford (Honolulu/Iowa Western CC/Kalani HS) and midfielder

Chaminade opens the season on the road at Colorado Christian College on Friday, Sept. 13 in Golden, Colo. The 'Swords make their home debut on Friday, Oct. 4 against Hawai'i Hilo.
