IRVINE, Calif. – For the second consecutive week, Chaminade University forward
Randi Fontes (Wahiawa, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Hawai'i/Pearl City HS) is the Pacific West Conference Hawai'i Player of the Week.
The senior scored both goals for the women's soccer team in their 2-2 draw Saturday against the University of Hawai'i Hilo. She has accounted for three of the team's four goals this season.
Fontes punched her in her first goal just 66 seconds into the game and added the second via penalty kick in the 86th minute to give the Silverswords a brief lead.
Her two goals gave her 11 in her career, tying her with
Twyla Hamasaki for second all-time and four away from Caitlin Tatemichi's career record of 15.
Chaminade leads the Hawai'i pod with a 1-0-1 mark while UH Hilo is 0-0-2, followed by Hawai'i Pacific University at 0-1-1. The Silverswords will face HPU on Sunday with kickoff at 3 p.m.
