Paul Shimomoto announced Monday eightmembers of the 2021 recruiting class.
Anthony Seedeen-Vargas is a 5-foot-10 midfielder from Palm Beach, Fla. He was the 2021 South Florida 2A-4A Player of the Year and first team all-county his senior year at American Heritage High School after amassing eight goals and 10 assists during his senior year. Seedeen-Vargas played club soccer with the Palm Beach United (ECNL) and was also with the South Florida Football Academy in the U.S. Developmental Academy.
Christopher "CJ" TenBroeke is a versatile 6-1 incoming freshman from Campbell High School in Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i. TenBroeke had a team-leading 12 goals in 2020, earning ScoringLive First Team All-O'ahu Interscholastic Association and all-state third team honors. He was selected to the Hawai'i state ODP team and was an ODP regional camp invitee while also playing club soccer for Nemesis Soccer Academy.
Dawson Christina is a transfer from Division III Greensboro College in Greensboro, N.C., where he played in nine contests in helping the Pride finish with a 7-3 mark and the USA South Atlantic Conference East Division title this past spring. The 6-1 midfielder played 425 minutes as a junior, his only year at Greensboro. His previous two years were at the Richmond International Academic and Soccer Academy in Leeds, England.
Gabriel Schroeder is a 6-5 goalkeeper from Galena High School in Reno, Nev., where he was the 2020 Northern Nevada Goalkeeper of the Year after leading Grizzlies to the NIAA 4A Northern Region championship. Schroeder was also a first team all-area selection.
Joseph Wren is a transfer from Division I Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah and a 2020 graduate of Kapolei High School in Kapolei, O'ahu, Hawai'i. The 6-4 midfielder guided the Hurricanes to back-to-back OIA titles along with a third-place finish in the 2019 Hawai'i High School Athletic Association Division I Championships where he scored two goals during the tournament. Wren was a member of the US Soccer West Region '02 ODP pool and Hawai'i ODP state team.
Mitchell Monteiro is a 5-11forward from West Boca High School in Boca Raton, Fla., where he earned Palm Beach Post 5A-8A First Team and Sun-Sentinel Palm Beach 6A-7A Second Team honors. Monteiro had a team-high eight goals in seven matches to help West Boca to the district championship this past spring. He played club soccer for Team Boca and Boca United in the U.S. Development Academy.
Muhammed Salam is a transfer from Ohlone College in Fremont, Calif., where he made 32 starts in his two seasons there, totaling three goals and an assist. The 6-3 alumni of Washington High School in Fremont played both midfielder and defender at Ohlone. Salam, who also goes by "Mo," will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Zach McClellan is a 2021 graduate of San Marcos High School in San Marcos, Calif., where he earned All-Avocado League First Team honors and was the team's Most Valuable Player. The 6-2 defender played club soccer for City SC (MLS NEXT) and City SC's '02 Elite Academy Team.
The Silverswords are expected to have 23 returnees for the upcoming Fall 2021 season.
