Women’s Volleyball 8th in Final AVCA Poll

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Chaminade University women's volleyball team is ranked No. 8 in the final AVCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll.
 
The Pacific West Conference champion Silverswords fell four spots after being ranked fourth in the final regular season poll, previously the highest in program history.
 
National champion Lynn University from Florida is ranked No. 1 in the final poll followed by San Francisco State. The Gators, which won the West Region championship and advanced all the way to the national title match, ended Chaminade's season in the regional semifinals.
 
Ferris State, which was undefeated entering the NCAA Tournament but suffered its first loss in the national quarterfinals to Bentley, is third. Angelo State and former Chaminade opponent St. Cloud State round out the top five. Other teams the 'Swords faced this season in the final poll include MSU Denver at 7, west region member Cal Poly Pomona at No. 9, West Texas A&M at 10 and Wayne State of Nebraska at 19.
 
Fellow PacWest member Point Loma is 14th in the final poll.
 
The Silverswords ended the 2024 season with 28 wins, the second-most in program history, and completed an undefeated 20-0 PacWest slate, the first perfect conference season since 2017. Five team members were named to the All-PacWest First Team while Letizia Cammillucci (Padova, Italy/San Jose State/Liceo Amedeo di Savoia Duca D'asosta HS), Anna Stucchi (Roncello, Italy/Santa Clara University/I.I.S. Ezio Vanoni HS) and Grace Talpash (Temecula, Calif./University of Oklahoma/Great Oak HS) earned all-region and AVCA All-America status.
 
The Silverswords project to have nine returnees for the 2025 season.
