Four From Women’s Basketball Named CSC Academic All-District

Four members of the Chaminade University women's basketball team on Tuesday were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
 
Selena Buttery (Brockway, Pa./Brockway), Ashley Holen (Watford City, N.D./Minot State University/Watford City HS), Julien Parado (Ewa Beach, O'ahu, Hawai'i/Campbell) and Alyssa Schuetze (Temecula, Calif./Great Oak) were recognized for excellence in the classroom.
 
Buttery, who owns a perfect grade-point average in Data Science, posted career numbers in her final season including scoring (6.2 per game), rebounding (5.7), assists (1.1) and 3-pointers (40) while her 34.2 percentage from 3-point range was 10th in the Pacific West Conference. The senior wing ended her career with at least one triple in her final 16 games.
 
Holen also posted a 4.00 GPA in studying Data Science. The redshirt senior guard was one of the first players off the bench, averaging 4.8 points and 2.1 rebounds per game.
 
Parado, who has a GPA of 3.75 in Nursing, set career highs in scoring (6.9) and rebounding (3.4). The junior guard also finished 10th in the PacWest in assists per game at 2.8.
 
Schuetze ended her junior season as the ninth-highest scorer in the conference at a 13.4 per game clip with her 41.9 shooting percentage ranking 16th. The junior guard, who has a 3.75 in Sport and Event Management, pulled down rebounds at a 5.2 average, putting her in the conference's top 25.

To be recognized on the Academic All-District team, candidates must be a sophomore both academically and athletically, have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 and have played in either 90 percent or have started in 66 percent of their team's contests.
 
Institutions can nominate up to four candidates for Academic All-District honors.
 
The Division II CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II Academic All-America® programs.
