Honolulu HI- Chaminade concluded the annual 2009 Hoop N Surf tournament last night with a loss to George Fox University, losing 57 to 39. Chaminade had only one player in double digits.
Junior Kayci Will scored a team high 15 points on 27 minutes of playing time. Senior point guard, Samantha Saito added 8 points and grabbed 5 boards for the Swords.
Chaminade came out of the gates a little slow and sluggish, George Fox scored 16 unanswered points to start of the game. CUH rallied and came back, however, poor shooting for the entire game was the reason Chaminade lost this game. They shot 12% from the 3 point line and just 30% as a team from the floor for the entire game.
George Fox had three players in double digits, Keisha Gordon had 14, Elise Kuenzi also had 14 and Hannah Munger added 11 points of her own.
With the loss the Silverswords fall to 1-4overall while George Fox improves their record to 6-2 overall. The Silverswords next game is against Cornell College on December 29th at 7:00PM in McCabe Gym.
