Honolulu, HI – The Lady Swords took on cross town rival Hawaii Pacific University tonight and fell by a score of 90 to 68. Despite losing by 22 points, CUH managed to have four players in double digits.
Samantha Saito led the charge tonight and posted 23 points; she grabbed 3 boards and had 3 steals for the Lady Swords. Lynette Dalle added 12 points, so did Kayci Will and Jamie Higa rounded out the team with 10 points of her own.
Chaminade shot well from beyond the arch, shooting a season high 46%. They also shot well from the charity line, connecting on 70% of the shots they took. The inability to rebound the ball continues to be a challenge for CUH; they lost the rebounding battle 57 to 26. The Lady Swords lack of offensive rebounds continues to hurt their second chance efforts. On 27 missed shots, CUH grabbed just 7 offensive rebounds; compared to HPU's 40 missed shots and 26 offensive rebounds.
With the loss CUH falls to 1-10 overall and 0-3 in the PACWEST, while Hawaii Pacific University improves their record to 8-4 and d 4-0 in the PACWEST. The Lady Swords next play on January 23rd at 5:30PM in Honolulu, HI. They take on the Vulcans of University of Hawaii-Hilo. Tip Off is set for 5:30PM HST at McCabe Gym.
