W. Tennis: Chaminade Falls to Hawaii Pacific 8-1

Hosaka earns win at #6 singles

WAIPIO, HI – Chaminade fell to Hawaii Pacific this morning by a score of 8-1 at the Central Oahu Regional Park Tennis Courts.

Chaminade nearly took the top singles match as sophomore Yanita Arnaudova (Hazkova, Bulgaria/Azen Zlatarov Foreign Language School) nearly defeated Celina Goetti, falling in a tiebreaker, 6-1, 2-6, 10-7.  The Silverswords Shayla Hosaka (Kailua, HI/Castle) earned a win for CUH, defeating Dominique Bushong 6-3, 7-6 in #6 singles.

Coach Mosley commented after the match: “We played well the first fifteen or twenty minutes, but we faded.  It was good to see Shayla (Hosaka) battle and get the win at #6 singles.”

With today's loss, Chaminade moves to 4-6 on the year.  Hawaii Pacific improves to 9-4
