SAN RAFAEL, CA – Chaminade fell to the Urban Knights of Academy of Art today, 5-1 at the Marin Tennis Club Park in the Swords Pac West Championships Quarterfinal match.
Chaminade was unable to find wins in singles, losing all three singles matches that were completed. In #1 doubles, All PacWest performer
Yuka Kondo (Irvine, Ca/San Joaquin) and sophomore
Yanita Arnaudova (Hazkova, Bulgaria/Azen Zlatarov Foreign Language School) shined, defeating their counterparts from AAU 8-3 for the lone Chaminade win. The Urban Knights won both #2 and #3 doubles to help earn the win.
Coach Mosley commented after the match: “We had chances and we battled, but we didn't get it done. We need to rally and get a win against Dominican tomorrow.
#5 Chaminade is back in action on April 20th, facing the #8 Penguins of Dominican (CA) at 3:00 PM PT in San Rafael, CA (Marin Tennis Courts).
With today's loss, Chaminade moves to 5-9 on the year. Academy of Art improves to 12-9.
