HONOLULU – Chaminade University women's basketball head coach
Arthur King announced Wednesday the signing of
Kayley Elliott to a National Letter of Intent.
Elliott, a 6-2 center from Springfield High School in Springfield, Ore., is a three-time All-Midwestern League honoree. She was a second-team all-MWL selection this past season, helping the Millers to a league title and a runner-up finish in the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) Class 5A Championships this past season. Elliott averaged 14 points and 7.7 rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the field during the OSAA tournament. It included a 21-point, eight-board performance in Springfield's opening round contest against Churchill.
Elliott also earned Midwestern League honors in 2018 (third team) and 2017 (honorable mention) while attending Marist Catholic, winning the OSAA state championship there during her junior year.
"We are very pleased to have Kayley join our Chaminade ohana," King said. "Kayley is a versatile player. She is a good 3-point shooter which will allow us to spread the floor offensively. She's also a natural rebounder and defender and those qualities will help defensively."
Elliott is the first signing of King's 2019 recruiting class.
