Roemer Named PacWest Player of the Week

IRVINE, Calif. – Chaminade University forward Colin Roemer has been selected as the Pacific West Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Sept. 15.

The Barton Community College transfer recorded a hat trick – just the second in program history – in his first game as a Silversword in the team's season-opener at Colorado Christian University on Friday. All three goals were scored in the first half.

Then on Sunday, Roemer took just six minutes to get the 'Swords on the board in their 3-2 victory at Metro State. His goal, which came at the 6:25 mark, is the third-fastest in team history. He is currently tied for the national lead in goals per game at 2.0.

Roemer, a Cologne, Germany native, helped Chaminade start the season 2-0 for the first time ever. The Silverswords are also riding a record five-match winning streak dating back to the final three contests in 2018. He is also just the second 'Sword to earn the conference's top weekly honor and the first since Lukas Pousset on Oct. 26, 2015.

The Silverswords are off until Thursday, Sept. 26 when they face in-city rival Hawai'i Pacific University in a non-conference match at Waipio Peninsula Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.
