WAIPIO, O'ahu, Hawai'i – The Chaminade University women's tennis team faced their third nationally-ranked opponent in as many matches on Thursday, dropping a 9-0 decision to Hawai'i Pacific University at Patsy T. Mink Central O'ahu Regional Park.
The Sharks (5-0), ranked No. 6 nationally and No. 2 in the West Region, took all three doubles matches to open the day then swept the singles matches.
The Silverswords (0-6) were without No. 3 singles and No. 2 doubles player
Kimberly Takara, who missed her first career match due to injury.
The 'Swords face the Sharks again next Friday in a rematch at Ala Moana Park, which is designated as an HPU home match.
