WILLIAM "BILL" VILLA was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i.  As a graduate of Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama, Villa was a multi-sport athlete who starred in basketball and would eventually play for the University of Hawai'i “Bow Babes”, which was considered the Junior Varsity team to the Fabulous Five.  After 20 years in the insurance business he turned his sights to 15 years of athletics administration work, serving as the Director of Athletics for Assets School and Mid-Pacific Institute.  In 2008, Villa was named the first full-time Director of Athletics for Chaminade University.  Under his guidance and leadership, the Athletics Program has reached new heights in the development of new facilities, additional full-time staff positions, implementation of the annual Golf Tournament, and most importantly the overall culture of competitiveness, team and ‘ohana.  With his continued emphasis on developing student-athletes both on the field of play and in the classroom, there is no doubt that the Silverswords will continue to rise in the coming years.

Villa retired from Chaminade in June 2020.
