The late CHIEF LEE DONOHUE, (RET.) is a proud graduate of Chaminade University (BGS ’77). The former Police Chief of the City and County of Honolulu (1998-2004) dedicated 40 years of service to the Honolulu Police Department and continues his dedication as the President of the Police Community Foundation. Under his leadership Honolulu became only the 14th major department in the United States to earn accreditation from the Commission for Law Enforcement Agencies. A strong supporter of athletics, Donohue has taken the lead as Chair of the Chaminade Hui ‘Ahinahina Booster Club, which is the main fundraising support for student-athletes and the University’s 10 NCAA Division II sports programs. He also dedicates himself to serving in the community, co-founding Kick-Start Karate, a program designed to encourage at-risk children to pursue higher education.
Donohue passed away in July 2023.
